Review
This straightforward CD-burning utility offers all the essentials and handles its main job without incident, though its strange design makes creating a disc a somewhat convoluted process. Unlike most similar programs we've tested, Cool CD Burner doesn't have a built-in pane for browsing your PC, requiring you to open Windows Explorer; find the correct folder; pull up the program's interface; and drag and drop music, data, or ISO files into the queue. Other than that, the application is easy to use, featuring clearly labeled icons for erasing and burning discs, as well as a drop-down box for selecting write speeds of up to 32X. In our tests, the program didn't demonstrate supersonic speeds but burned discs reasonably quickly. Happily, the trial version allows you to burn as many discs as you want for 15 days, much less restrictive than many demo burners on the scene. If you can live with its annoying design miscue, Cool CD Burner makes a decent choice.
