VisualRoute for Mac: The Ultimate Networking Software

Are you tired of slow internet connections and outages? Do you want to quickly locate the source of the problem and fix it? Look no further than VisualRoute for Mac, the ultimate networking software that combines traceroute, ping, reverse DNS, and Whois tools into a single graphical interface.

With VisualRoute, you can analyze your internet connections in real-time to identify where an outage or slowdown occurs. The software uses an IP location database to pinpoint the geographical location of IP addresses and web servers, showing you the path of your internet connection on a global map. This makes it easy to troubleshoot network issues and improve your online experience.

What's New in VisualRoute 2008?

The latest release of VisualRoute adds several new features that make it even more powerful:

IPv6 Compatibility: With support for IPv6 addresses, VisualRoute can now analyze both IPv4 and IPv6 networks.

Multiple Path Discovery: In addition to tracing a single path from source to destination, VisualRoute can now discover multiple paths between two points. This helps identify alternate routes that may be faster or more reliable than the default path.

Updated IP Location Database: The 2008 release includes an updated database with over 1 million entries. This ensures accurate geolocation information for all IP addresses and web servers.

Key Features of VisualRoute

Visual Interface: Unlike traditional command-line networking tools like traceroute and ping, VisualRoute presents all data in a graphical format. This makes it easy to understand complex network paths at a glance.

Geolocation Information: By using an extensive IP location database, VisualRoute provides detailed information about each hop along your network path. You can see where each server is located on a map as well as its hostname and ISP information.

Packet Loss Detection: When analyzing network performance issues such as slow speeds or dropped connections, packet loss is often the culprit. With packet loss detection built into VisualRoute's analysis engine, you can quickly identify where packets are being dropped along your route.

Reverse DNS Lookup: Sometimes knowing just an IP address isn't enough - you need to know what domain name is associated with it. With reverse DNS lookup built into Visual Route's analysis engine this becomes possible!

Whois Lookup: Whois lookup allows users find out who owns any domain name by querying public databases maintained by registrars like ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers).

Ping Analysis: Ping analysis allows users check if their website or server is up by sending ICMP packets which are then returned back if successful.

Why Choose Visual Route?

There are many reasons why businesses choose visual route over other networking software:

Ease-of-Use: Unlike traditional command-line networking tools like traceroute or ping which require technical expertise, visual route has been designed with ease-of-use in mind making it accessible even for non-technical users.

Real-Time Analysis: With real-time analysis capabilities, visual route enables businesses monitor their networks continuously ensuring they stay ahead of potential problems before they occur.

Comprehensive Reporting: Businesses need comprehensive reporting capabilities when monitoring their networks. Visual Route provides detailed reports on every aspect including latency, packet loss, bandwidth utilization etc.

Conclusion

In conclusion, if you're looking for powerful yet easy-to-use networking software that will help improve your online experience then look no further than visual route. With its advanced features such as geolocation information, packet loss detection & comprehensive reporting capabilities there really isn't anything else quite like it!

Review

Analyze your Internet connectivity with this program that combines Traceroute, Ping, and Whois tools in an intuitive graphical interface. When you have connectivity problems, VisualRoute makes it possible to track down which server is faulty. We plugged in a problem URL and VisualRoute quickly generated a map showing us the jumps our connection took around the world. We were quickly able to identify the problem server and reported it to the appropriate parties. This program works great for locating suspected intruders and can pinpoint the origins of malicious e-mails. It provides city and country locations of IP addresses to identify hackers before your system is compromised, as well as domain and network contact information for abuse reporting. Our one concern with this program is the part of the license agreement which states they can track your user information to enforce license compliance. This seems a little invasive and distrustful to users, but is certainly completely harmless. In spite of this shortcoming, we like using this program's intuitive controls and the ability to check connectivity on a world-map graphical interface.
