Description

Physics for Mac is an educational software designed to help students learn calculus-based general physics. Created by a physics professor at Saint Louis University, this software includes a collection of SuperCard Player projects that are easy to use and can be used as supplementary materials for lectures.

The projects included in Physics for Mac are not complete tutorials, but they are designed to accompany lectures and provide additional resources for students. Each project contains text, graphics, and animations that appear with each click of the mouse button. This allows students to set their own pace and review the material as many times as needed.

One of the best things about Physics for Mac is that it is freeware and can be downloaded directly from the website. The software only runs on a Mac under OS X, but it has been updated using SuperCard 4.7 so that it can be played on either PowerPC or Intel equipped Macs.

When you download Physics for Mac, you will receive several files including "Read me! Physics" and "Read me! SolveLinEqs", which provide instructions on how to use the software. You will also receive a "SuperCard Player Install.dmg" file which installs the "SuperCard Player 4.7" folder necessary to run the projects.

In addition, there is a PICS folder that should be placed in the "SuperCard Player 4.7" folder along with two semester folders containing 34 SuperCard projects covering Semester I and 33 SuperCard projects covering Semester II respectively.

There are also two lists provided: one listing all project names covered in Semester I while another lists all project names covered in Semester II.

Finally, there is an application called "SolveLinEqs" included which helps solve linear equations commonly encountered in physics problems.

Overall, Physics for Mac provides an excellent resource for students studying calculus-based general physics who want additional materials to supplement their learning experience outside of class time. With its easy-to-use interface and comprehensive collection of SuperCard Player projects covering both semesters of coursework along with SolveLinEqs application makes this educational software worth downloading today!
