Book Hunter is a free application for Mac OS X Leopard that catalogs, sorts, and organizes your book collection. With Book Hunter, you can easily keep track of all your books and find the ones you want to read quickly and easily.

Catalog Your Entire Book Collection

With Book Hunter, cataloging your entire book collection is easy. Simply enter the ISBN number or title of each book into the application and it will automatically retrieve information about the book from online databases such as Amazon.com or LibraryThing.com.

Sort Your Books by Author, Title Publisher or Genre

Once all your books are cataloged in Book Hunter, sorting them is easy. You can sort them by author name so that all books written by one author are grouped together. Alternatively, sort them by title so that they appear alphabetically on screen.

Custom Tags for Each Book

In addition to sorting options provided within the app itself (author name/title), users can add custom tags to each individual entry within their library which allows even more granular organization options based on personal preferences.

Query Online Databases for Information About Each Book

One of the best features of Book Hunter is its ability to query online databases such as Amazon.com or LibraryThing.com for information about each book in your collection. This means that with just one click you can get detailed information about any given title including cover art images!

Import/Export Data From/To Other Applications Such As Delicious Library Or Excel

If you already have data stored elsewhere (such as another library management software) then importing it into this app should be no problem at all! Additionally exporting data out from this app into other formats like CSV files makes sharing with others much easier too!

Conclusion:

Overall if someone wants an easy-to-use tool which helps manage their personal library then look no further than "BookHunter". It's free software available exclusively on Mac OS X Leopard platform which provides users with powerful tools like querying external databases (Amazon/Libarything) along with customizable tagging system allowing users full control over how they organize their collections!

Review

Book Hunter for Mac's excellent interface and helpful tutorial make it a good application for sorting and organizing a book collection. As users read more and more on their computers, smartphones, tablets, and with physical books at home, this type of application is becoming more useful.

After downloading and starting up, the free application brings the user into a tutorial, which links to the developer's Web page for more information. This help is not really needed since Book Hunter for Mac is easy to use. The main interface includes noticeable buttons for entering book information and creating separate lists for different types of materials. Clicking on the new book section brings up an additional window where its description and information can be entered. Users can also drag cover images into a window for inclusion, as well as mark the item read, unread, or in the process of being read. An auto-complete button also allows for retrieval of additional information from the Internet. This function works well and returns a number of metadata options for the materials entered, even with limited information. Users also can add borrowed books and ones that they want to purchase in the future.

Book Hunter for Mac works well and should be helpful for almost any level of Mac user.
