Description

ScratchPad for Mac is a productivity software that helps you keep your notes organized. It is a simple, free application designed specifically for Mac OS X users. If you are someone who needs to jot down notes frequently, ScratchPad can be an excellent tool to help you stay on top of things.

The software is essentially a modern version of the classic Note Pad program that came with the old Mac OS. However, it comes with several additional features and functionalities that make it more useful and efficient than its predecessor.

One of the most significant advantages of ScratchPad is its simplicity. The interface is clean and straightforward, making it easy to use even for those who are not tech-savvy. You can quickly create new notes by clicking on the "+" button in the app's main window or using a keyboard shortcut.

Once you have created your note, you can customize it by changing its font size, color, and style. You can also add bullet points or numbered lists to make your notes more organized and readable.

Another great feature of ScratchPad is its ability to sync your notes across multiple devices using iCloud. This means that if you have an iPhone or iPad running iOS 11 or later, you can access your ScratchPad notes from anywhere as long as you are signed in with the same Apple ID.

ScratchPad also supports Markdown formatting language which allows users to format their text without having to use HTML tags manually. This makes creating rich-text documents much easier than before.

In addition to these features, ScratchPad also offers several customization options such as setting up hotkeys for quick access or changing the app's appearance using different themes available in preferences settings.

Overall, if you're looking for a simple yet powerful note-taking app that works seamlessly across all your Apple devices then look no further than Scratchpad!

Review

ScratchPad is a free, simple text editor inspired by the old Mac default application Note Pad. You'll find much of the functionality of Text Edit here--including support for styles and a ruler, and the ability to use rich text, color, and images--but with a few clever additions.

ScratchPad automatically saves as you type, over multiple pages, letting you quickly flip forward and back through however many separate pages you want to create in the app. One big advantage of this multipage approach over Text Edit is that you won't have so many tiny .txt files littered all over your desktop or hard drive--in fact, there are no files to save at all.

One disadvantage, however, is that it can become difficult to find what you're looking for if you end up adding a lot of pages to ScratchPad. ScratchPad has some other deficiencies (for example, there is no quick way to convert a page to plain text), but other interesting features (such as its ability to float above other windows, transparently) make this free, fast-loading app worth checking out. We probably won't see many (if any) more updates to ScratchPad, since its developer is now working on a more full-featured app called ScratchBook.
