Description

Hear for Mac is a powerful sound enhancement software that can improve the sound quality from your headphones, internal or external speakers. With Hear, you can add 3D sound and other various special effects to the sound, making your music, movies, games or any other application sound amazing. This software is perfect for anyone who wants to take their audio experience to the next level.

One of the most impressive features of Hear is its ability to create a virtual cinema quality sound experience with 3D Sound. If you love movies and want to feel like you're in the middle of all the action, then this feature will blow your mind. The sound will approach you from all angles, even from behind! You'll feel like you're right there in the movie theater.

Another great feature of Hear is its studio-quality N-band equalizer with built-in peak limiter. This allows you to perfect your sound and customize it according to your preference. You have complete control over how your music sounds with this powerful equalizer.

If you're looking for more bass in your life but don't have a subwoofer, then Hear has got you covered with its Virtual Subwoofer feature. This feature uses your existing speakers to boost your bass and give you that thump that's missing from your audio experience.

Hear also offers Speaker Correction Control which allows users to control speaker resonance and increase frequency range for enhanced audio quality. Additionally, Center Channel Control lets users control volume and width of sounds coming from their own virtual center-stage for performance-grade audio effects.

Overall, Hear is an excellent choice for anyone who wants better sounding audio on their Mac device. Whether it's music or movies or games – this software has got everything covered! Once you try Hear out yourself – we guarantee that it will become an essential part of how enjoy media on Mac devices!

Review

Hear for Mac offers a range of audio control and enhancement tools not native to OS X. With a full 10-96 band equalizer, 3D sound tools, and more, you can add special effects to your audio for listening on headphones or speakers. Depending on the type of audio system you have, there are a number of options for how to optimize using Hear.

Pros

Works well with existing Mac software and hardware: Hear works well with the majority of software built in to the Mac. This includes tools like iTunes and Safari and most external speakers and headsets. The sheer volume of options for optimizing sound makes it a fantastic tool for most everyday listening.

Enhances and improves sound quality: Hear can optimize existing tracks, videos, and other sound-based content on your computer. Small speakers will sound richer and fuller than they did before, with numerous options to tweak if you know how to use them.

Cons

Doesn't work with all software and settings: There are certain software tools and settings that Hear doesn't work well with. We experienced some issues with GarageBand and other software not working properly or sounding more or less the same as they did without Hear active.

Bottom Line

If you are interested in boosting the quality of your audio for standard playback or editing, Hear is a solid piece of software that works in most settings. For those without an audio background, the more robust features will remain unused, but even the basic enhancement is still worthwhile.

Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of Hear for Mac 1.2.2.
