Description

Coda for Mac is a powerful developer tool that provides an all-in-one solution for web code. With its new one-window interface, Coda offers a fresh approach to web development that is bursting with features but without bloat. Built to make your life better, Coda 2 is the editor you've always wanted.

If you're someone who codes for the web, then you know how important it is to have an editor that can handle all of your needs in one place. That's exactly what Coda 1 did when it revolutionized the process of web development by putting everything you needed in one place: an editor, terminal, CSS, file management and SVN.

But the team behind Coda knew they could do more. And with Coda 2, they went beyond expectations by adding tons of highly-requested features and a few nobody expected. They then wrapped it all up in a shiny groundbreaking UI fit for the future.

So what makes Coda 2 so special? Let's take a closer look at some of its key features:

- One-window interface: With its new one-window interface, everything you need is right at your fingertips. No more switching between different windows or applications – everything is right there in front of you.

- Code folding: This feature allows you to collapse sections of code so that you can focus on specific parts of your project without being distracted by other code.

- Visual tabs: With visual tabs, it's easy to keep track of multiple files and projects at once.

- Code highlighting: Syntax highlighting makes it easy to read and understand your code.

- Git integration: If you use Git for version control (and let's face it – who doesn't?), then Coda has got you covered with built-in Git integration.

- MySQL integration: If your project requires database access (and again – who doesn't?), then MySQL integration makes it easy to manage databases directly from within Coda.

- FTP/SFTP/FTPS support: Uploading files has never been easier thanks to built-in support for FTP/SFTP/FTPS protocols.

But those are just some of the highlights – there are plenty more features packed into this powerful tool. And best of all? It's incredibly easy to use.

Whether you're a seasoned developer or just starting out, Coda 2 has something for everyone. Its intuitive interface makes coding fun again while still providing all the power and flexibility that developers need.

So if you're looking for an all-in-one solution for web development on Mac OS X, look no further than Coda 2!

Review

Coda from Panic Software offers a sleek, trimmed-down alternative to expensive Web design suites. This one-window Web design app combines all the tools you need to build a site, with an emphasis on creating a fast, easy, integrated workflow.

Coda's collaboration tools let you seamlessly work together with others, and a built-in FTP sidebar--using the power of Panic's powered-up Transmit 4--helps you get your site updated quickly. Hand-coding experts will like the full-featured CSS and text editors (although no code folding here), and editing multiple files side by side in split panes is a breeze. Coda also has tons of time-saving features, including Clips (for frequently used code snippets), an Open Quickly window (for fast access to specific files), and integrated subversion. We particularly like the powerful Find and Replace tools, which let you drag-and-drop global changes to your code.

Coda is neither perfect nor cheap (and we're getting antsy for Coda 2.0), but if you're searching for a reasonably priced Web design tool on the Mac, Coda is a solid choice.
