Rocket for Mac 1.4.1

Mac / Matthew Palmer / 87 / Full spec
Description

Rocket for Mac is a productivity software that allows you to use Slack-style emoji everywhere on your Mac. With Rocket, you can easily add custom gifs and images to your messages, making them more fun and engaging. This software requires Accessibility permissions for your Mac, which are very liberal. Apps with Accessibility permissions can view almost any input-related event on your Mac, but Rocket takes this responsibility seriously.

When you use Rocket, it stores your user preferences in ~/Library/Preferences/net.matthewpalmer.Rocket.plist and your usage information in ~/Library/Application Support/Rocket/rocket.db. This includes what custom emoji you have set up and how many times you use a shortcut. The former may be transmitted when reporting crashes or if you opt-in when sending feedback, but the latter is never transmitted.

Rocket uses a network connection only for automatic updates and crash reporting. It does not collect any personal information or data from its users.

One of the key features of Rocket is its trigger keys. Trigger keys are used to activate Rocket by typing a single punctuation mark followed by the start of an emoji name. For example, ":wave" uses the trigger key ":". The most effective trigger keys are ":", "(", and "+". Once activated, Rocket will display a list of relevant emojis that match what you typed.

Another great feature of Rocket is its ability to add custom gifs and images to your messages. After purchasing Rocket, you will receive an email with a link to download a collection of gifs that can be added to the software once licensed.

To add custom gifs or images:

1) Download the zip file from the link provided in the email.

2) Extract the contents of the zip file.

3) Move the newly-created folder to a permanent location on your computer (e.g., Pictures folder).

4) Open Rocket's Browse & Search window via the menu bar icon.

5) Click on "+" icon located at bottom left corner

6) Select "gifs" option

7) Click Add button

8) Locate folder where downloaded files were extracted

9) Select all files using Command-A or shift-clicking on first and last file

10) Click Add button again

Your custom gifs should now be available within Rocket's browser! If you encounter any issues during this process or have questions about licensing issues please contact us via Twitter or email for assistance.

In conclusion, if you're looking for an easy-to-use productivity software that allows Slack-style emojis everywhere on your Mac then look no further than Rocket! With its simple interface and powerful features like trigger keys and customizable gif support it's sure to make messaging more fun than ever before!
