MovieScanner for Mac: The Ultimate Video Analysis Tool

Are you tired of manually analyzing your video files to determine their specifications? Do you want a tool that can quickly and accurately identify the resolution, aspect ratio, audio tracks, and embedded subtitles of your videos? Look no further than MovieScanner for Mac.

Designed specifically for video enthusiasts who want to compare different versions of their video files without having to open them in a media player, MovieScanner is the ultimate video analysis tool. Unlike other programs that are designed for cataloging movies or identifying them from online databases like IMBD or TheMovieDB, MovieScanner focuses solely on analyzing your existing video files.

With its intuitive interface and powerful analysis engine, MovieScanner makes it easy to quickly scan through all of your videos and identify key specifications. Whether you're comparing two different versions of the same movie or trying to determine which file has the best quality, MovieScanner gives you all the information you need at a glance.

So what exactly can MovieScanner do? Here are just a few of its key features:

- Analyze multiple video files at once: With support for batch processing, MovieScanner can analyze dozens or even hundreds of videos in one go. Simply select the folder containing your videos and let MovieScanner do the rest.

- Identify resolution and aspect ratio: Want to know if a particular file is 720p or 1080p? Is it widescreen or full screen? With just a few clicks, MovieScanner can tell you everything you need to know about each file's resolution and aspect ratio.

- Detect audio tracks: Does your movie have multiple audio tracks in different languages? No problem - with support for up to eight audio tracks per file, MovieScanner can detect them all.

- Find embedded subtitles: If your movie has embedded subtitles (i.e., subtitles that are part of the actual video file), then MovieScanner will find them automatically. This makes it easy to compare different versions of movies with different subtitle options.

- Export data as CSV: Need to share your analysis results with others? No problem - simply export them as CSV (comma-separated values) files that can be opened in any spreadsheet program.

But perhaps best of all is how easy it is to use. Simply drag-and-drop one or more folders containing your videos onto the main window, click "Scan", and let MovieScanner do its thing. Within seconds (or minutes if there are many files), you'll have detailed information about each file at your fingertips.

And because it's designed specifically for MacOS X users who demand high-quality software tools that work seamlessly with their operating system environment; ViMediaManager highly recommends this program!

Review

MovieScanner for Mac shows you the audio and video attributes of your movies and clips in a straightforward list. This small utility comes free of charge and is extremely basic, offering little in terms of features. Still, it lets you easily add files and folders, as well as search files by name with live filtering.

When launched, MovieScanner for Mac presents you with a very minimal interface that consists of a single toolbar and a space for a list of items. There is no menu system or app preference menu. Once you add some movies, you will be able to see information about them such as aspect ratio, video quality, resolution, size, format, audio and video encoders, audio channels, length, and if present, subtitles. This list of entries can be sorted in both ascending and descending order by name, extension, size, and directory, as well as filtered in real time by title. The toolbar also features options to refresh the movie database or clear it. In our tests, loading a folder with ten videos took only a second.

If you're looking for an app that displays technical information about your video files, MovieScanner for Mac can be of use. While extremely minimal, this free utility provides enough information to get by, and when combined with the tooltip support for most objects, is accessible even to novice users.
