This program helps automate a few simple PC tasks, but many competing utilities do much more. With Datanation Shutdown Utility, you can shut down, reboot, or log off your PC at specified times. One of the program's more helpful features is a timer that counts down 30 seconds before the computer shuts down, but this doesn't make up for the fact that you can't schedule regular shutdowns or reboots, such as on a daily or weekly basis. And unlike some other programs in this class, this one cannot automate other tasks such as opening a document or launching a program at a specified time. The upside to the slim feature set is that the tiny interface is easy to use, if not exactly attractive. Still, if you only need the basics, Datanation Shutdown Utility is inexpensive and perfectly functional.
