Description
Find out who is the hog on your hard drive and eliminate the hogging folder. This great utility allows you to clean up space on your hard drive by removing or deleting the hog from your system. You decide which folder to clean up or save to an external media if desired.
Review
Folder Hog is a great tool for helping you identify unwieldy folders taking up space on your hard drive, but it isn't as effective at removing them. A familiar Explorer-style list of your hard drives makes it easy to select an entire drive or specific folders to scan, and results can be displayed in a pie chart or table. You can select the number of folders displayed in scan results and include hidden folders. We were impressed with this program's easy navigation, especially the ability to click the pie chart to quickly see a folder's subfolders or contents. Not so impressive were its file-management tools. The option to delete items from the table view didn't work in all tests, and when items were deleted they didn't go to the Recycle Bin so there was no way to retrieve an accidentally deleted item. You'll also be plagued by a nag screen during the 30-day trial. Folder Hog can definitely help you find the worst resource-eating offenders on your system, but you'll need to rely on other methods to manage them.
