Description
Baby Names is a software which contains a database of over 21,000 baby names with meanings from over 70 origin categories. The database can be searched by Name, Meaning, Origin and Sex. A Name search can be made with options set to find an exact match, or to search for names beginning with specific letters, ending with specific letters, or containing certain letters. Favorite names can be added to a Favorites database. Version 1. 0. 1 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes. All names are not displayed in the trial version.
Review
You can mull over baby names and their meanings using this software, though it's rather bland for our palate. No cutesy baby stuff or animated graphics here, the extremely humdrum interface of Baby Names might just bore you to tears. Once the excitement of naming baby returns, you'll be glad to find search tools of a large database to look up boy or girl names by name, meaning, or origin.
A Favorites list is added, although the demo doesn't allow you to use it. Baby Names also blocks out names containing the letters "e" or "i" until you purchase the application, so a large number of names are excluded. While its database includes a huge number of names, it doesn't offer lists according to popularity or celebrity names, like some apps we've come across. Rather dry in performance, parents-to-be can get a modest glimpse of this application in the trial.
