Review
Quick, the boss is coming! No worries, though: SD WinHider lets you conceal windows and system-tray icons with a couple of clicks. The basic, easy-to-understand interface displays the list of currently open windows and system-tray applications in two tabs. To hide or restore an item, just check or uncheck the corresponding box. The program doesn't just minimize hidden windows; it also removes them from the Windows taskbar. We had some complaints, though. Without a help file, we couldn't figure out SD WinHider's transparency feature. And while clicking both mouse buttons hides the active window, we would also like hot keys for quickly hiding particular apps. Furthermore, the trial version employs a bothersome nag message that sits like a watermark on top of all your other windows--very irritating. But the underlying program works well enough, so if Alt Tab isn't getting the job done, SD WinHider is worth a look.
