Review
Wow. A feed reader, an HTML scraper, and an information manager rolled into one, Newzie is so packed with features you almost expect it to go nuclear. Newzie displays recently updated feeds in a cleverly color-coded list, and can combine them into filtered virtual channels. It also can monitor HTML changes in sites that don t publish in RSS.
In addition, there s a news ticker, a powerful clean-up tool, and support for the popular Bloglines Web aggregator. And that s just scratching the surface. Unfortunately, Newzie s interface is a complicated jumble of toolbars that makes even simple operations frustrating. This is a beta release, so some glitches are inevitable.
Also, the installer may not work on systems other than Windows XP. For everyone else, another installer is available on the publisher s Web site. Right now, Newzie is only fit for RSS junkies, but we re eager to see how this powerhouse program evolves.
