Description
This simple utility allows you to save the display resolution settings and restore them automatically at login. This can be used where different users of a shared machine need different screen resolutions, such as for a family where one member has a visual disability.
Review
SetRes allows you to save and restore screen display resolutions, making it easy for users sharing a computer to switch to their preferred configuration, but it doesn't remember display details like background and screensaver settings.
SetRes automatically creates two icons: one for saving current resolution settings and another for switching to another configuration. You can choose to automatically switch to your preferred display resolution at log-in, a nice touch for multiuser computers. In our tests, both the Save and Restore functions worked swiftly and accurately as various test users logged in and out.
SetRes only saves screen resolution, however, and it would have been better if the program's scope included other display properties like background and screensaver settings. Nonetheless, any user may still find this single-purpose freeware handy in restoring user-defined resolutions on computers with multiple user accounts.
