Description
Cheetah is Polish, free RSS reader. It stands out among other program of this type, because its interface is designed in unusual way and it should be appreciated by all users. You can easily add, edit, and organize feeds into categories. Additionally it is possible to browse the catalogue of RSS feeds while using the application. Cheetah makes possible quick and comfortable reading information available by RSS. The program still develops, so we ensure you that all bugs will be corrected. For sure, some bonus features will be added.
Review
This promising RSS feed reader gets off to a good start but quickly disappoints. Cheetah's basic single-column interface is easily mastered. The program was originally written in Polish but has a single-click option to render functions in English. The program requires little overhead, and it operates fairly quickly.
The basic premise of Cheetah is to open a single RSS feed at a time from an easily navigated list of user-selected feeds. Headlines are listed in a single column and take just a click to open the post in the feed reader. Unfortunately, we discovered many drawbacks with this app. It's pretty easy to add a single feed, but there is no method to import an OPML file. The program failed to read many of our test sites, and it stumbled over some common feed formats. When it did load a feed, it often failed to accurately display common HTML codes. Cheetah also could not display embedded photos found in many of the feeds.
While we liked the simplicity of displaying a single feed at a time, we found far too many problems and limitations to recommend this freeware feed reader to any level user.
