Easily save your passwords and other secrets with this tiny Java-based application, but you might have some trouble finding them later on. SecureVault's button and spreadsheet-style interface won't take long to master, but most users will wish for search and display functions. A disadvantage for some users is that this app must be loaded through a JAVA runtime environment.

SecureVault makes it easy to save secrets, but it doesn't make it easy to later find them. Each entry gets only two displayed items: a title and a single category. You're not restricted to a select set of categories, however, and they're easy to create as you go. Although only two data points are listed in the main entry display, you can save any number of fields in the entry. There are preset fields, but here again it's easy to create your own. Double click an entry title to display and edit it. All those used to editing spreadsheets will find this utility very familiar, if a bit less flexible than most spreadsheet programs.

This freeware is tiny and easily carried on a USB stick. Data files are saved in an encrypted format and are password protected. SecureVault certainly isn't the most flexible of data-storage programs, but its size and simplicity will make it attractive to many users.
