Description
AstroAvenger features cool graphics, excellent sound effects, and groovy sound track. The game employs an advanced upgrade and power-up system that allows you to buy new types of weapons, ammo, armor and batteries as you advance from one level to another. Fighting takes place in five distinct space galaxies with a total of 50 levels.
There are over 25 different enemy ships types to combat. Version 1.7 Microsoft Vista compatibility added, Windowed mode has been fixed, game engine was converted to DirectX v8.0, Web version was created, and minor bugs were fixed.

Top-notch graphics, a wide variety of enemies, and an awesome shipboard arsenal make this ostensibly standard space shooter highly addictive. AstroAvenger pits your space fighter against vertically scrolling waves of enemy fighters backed up by missile cruisers and mammoth capital ships. The captivating graphics set the carefully shaded spacecraft against a gorgeous backdrop of purple nebulae and spinning moons. Eerie music evokes the vastness of space. Destroyed enemies drop power-ups, and between rounds you can trade captured booty to upgrade your ship. The mix of opponents and weaponry is so well-handled, you hardly notice each round is basically structured the same as the last. Experienced gamers will finish the demo's one level in less than the provided hour, but three grades of difficulty encourage replaying. Fans of shooting games should take AstroAvenger for a test flight.
