Description
A Windows application to reveal passwords. Useful if you get a network logon box popup prepopulated with your password and you want to find out what the password is. Should work with any Windows app which has a masked input box (alas, wont work with IE, and firefox). Version 1.0.0.49 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
Review
It promises to reveal select passwords, but this simple executable falls far short of similar programs. Password Revealer's interface is a single button with short explanatory text. Using the program takes little user skill.
The problem with this application is its narrow scope. If your network log-in screen or dialog box masks your saved password, you can easily click this program's button to reveal the password. But, as the publisher notes, the application doesn't work with IE or Firefox. Unfortunately, our tests found the program also couldn't reveal passwords in Outlook Express dialogs. Many similar freeware packages offer similar functionality for a greater number of password-protected programs.
Still, it's freeware and it takes up little space on your hard drive, so you might want to give Password Revealer a test.
