Description
Do you ever find yourself forgetting your passwords or searching endlessly for that little piece of paper that you wrote them on? We have the solution: Secure Store is a password manager program that stores your passwords on your system using 128 bit encryption to ensure that you never forget a password again. It also automatically fills in your username and password on any Web form. Version 3.0.1 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
Review
This Internet Explorer add-on stores passwords in a secure database, but presents stability issues and lacks advanced features. Secure Store Password Manager's functional, password-protected interface is simple to operate and lets you easily group numerous accounts into categories and quickly access them on top of your browser window. Aside from log-in IDs and passwords, we like that it houses other information, such as address and credit card information. Be sure to read the Help documentation before adding log-in information, because the tools process is different from adding addresses and credit card data. Like similar apps in this class, you'll find a handy password generator and autofill feature. While Secure Store Password Manager worked just fine in testing, the app caused our test machine to slow to a crawl. It uses a 128-bit encryption algorithm to protect data, but it fails to mention the brand. You won't find an autolock feature or a selection of encryption algorithms for additional security. Secure Store Password Manager could suit any user looking for a no-frills way to manage log-in and other personal data, though more advanced users will probably want a wider assortment of security options.
