Description

Welcome to SkyeFavourites, a great little desktop utility to aid the use and management of your Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox favourites / bookmarks. Speed up your productivity using the internet without having to scroll through a massive list of favourites. Unclutter the desktop, free the browser - means that the browser is not cluttered by a list of favourites on the left hand side, instead, favourites are listed independantly of the browser. So, even if the browser is shut down you can get back to a favourite website instantly without having to open a folder to get a bunch of shortcuts, go back to the desktop to wade through a pile of shortcuts, and helps you organise your shortcuts into a list. Also, and a couple of major plusses. It allows you to SEARCH for a link in your favourites list and BACKUP your favourites to a text file or to a folder as a nice (guess what), sectioned shortcuts. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.

Editor review

SkyeFavourites is a tool that is supposed to help you manage your bookmarks. After we experienced the constant nag screens and awkward navigation, we had to wonder about this program's incentive.

The program was slow to load from the start. A nag screen prompts you to register, but we were able to bypass it by clicking exit. But that wasn't the last we saw of the nag screen. It popped up every 30 or so seconds. Once we clicked OK, we then received a very confusing message that said something about our favorites exceeding the trial limit. The program itself docks either at the top of your window, or at the bottom. It stays on top of whatever you are working on. When opened, the user interface features a bright blue but transparent background, and navigational buttons at the bottom. You can hover your mouse over each one to find its purpose. We proceeded to add a new favorite, but after entering the required information, nothing happened. Our favorites never appeared in the window. The program offers a Help feature, but it didn't fix our problem.

The nag screen alone made us want to immediately remove this program from our PC. But that, combined with its poor performance, had us longing for our IE bookmarking tool.
