Description
In this screensaver, you'll see 25 pictures of Washington D.C. The images were taken in July 1989 and July 2001 and feature landmarks throughout the city, including the White House, a view of the Jefferson Memorial from across the Tidal Basin, and an aerial view of the National Mall from the Washington Monument.
Version 2 supports Windows Vista.
Review
This screensaver lets you visit Washington D.C.'s most famous sights at no charge. The program's images include shots of the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the White House, and the Smithsonian Institute. While most of the close-up shots are of good quality, some of the aerial pictures appear to be several decades old and appear faded. We also might suggest the developer add some sort of appropriate theme music. While you will find a nice library of transition effects, you can't set the delay between images or choose a random sequence. Also, some of the transitions are quite slow and may frustrate impatient users. This program is by no means a knockout, but since it is free, we can recommend it to anyone who wants to see America's capital city from afar.
