Description
HWDirect is an advanced low-level hardware register access software utility for Windows. It allows user to read and modify PC system hardware registers. With current latest version, HWDIRECT encapsulates nine separate tools. They are OSInfo, CPUID Info, PCI Read/Write (Support PCI Express Enhanced Configuration registers), I/O Read/Write, MSR Read/Write, CMOS Read/Write, Memory Dump, Hex Viewer/Editor, and SMBUS Access. 30-day trial. Save and write function are disabled.
Review
This application provides easy access to your hardware configuration settings, but the demo version doesn't allow users to save the changes made.
HWDirect's simple two-pane interface displays your complete system configuration in a typical tree-like menu. You can dig deeper by displaying each setting in separate windows. When you choose a system item, the program quickly and effectively collects all necessary information to allow you to easily make settings changes.
Unfortunately, in this demo version, the Save feature is disabled. That makes it impossible to verify the effects of the modifications. Despite the program's novice-friendly interface, all users should be aware that hardware modifications can have a serious impact on system performance. We like the way this program looks and operates, but you'll have to take a leap of faith that saving modifications will work in the full version.
