Bus Hound is a software bus analyzer for capturing I/O, protocol, and performance measurements from a wide variety of devices and buses. You can also submit your own custom commands to devices including bus resets. Bus Hound is a 100% software product. Supports any device attached to IDE, SCSI, USB, FireWire, serial port, parallel port, Bluetooth, PS2 mouse port, PS2 keyboard port, and others. Version 6 adds Windows Vista/Server 2008 support.

This software immediately captures activities of any attached devices, such as a mouse or keyboard, but understanding how to use this utility takes too long to grasp. Bus Hound's interface is straightforward, and it lets you configure displayed results for each selection, such as device, address, length, phase, data, and description. Bus Hound automatically detects activity of every device connected to any port of your PC, and it captures results in text or in hex patterns.
Our tests show impressive results because actions performed with our mouse and keyboard devices were captured in real time. Bus Hound lets you modify settings for each port connection, like USB and serial port, through the Devices feature. The program saves an activity log as a text or zipped file for backup purposes. We recommend this 32-event capturing software to experienced users, but careful testing and evaluation is necessary to optimize the tool's device monitoring.
