Description
Lower Case Switcher is a simple, but very useful utility that allows you to correct upper and lower case typos that can occur if you accidentally left the Caps Lock button turned on. All you have to do is press a keyboard hotkey and the selected text, or last typed word will be converted to upper and/or lower case.
Review
This application offers shortcut alternatives to changing the case of selected text, but it doesn't work with all applications. Lower Case Switcher's system tray icon offers a simple right-click menu for accessing settings and selecting one of the five offered languages, including English, German, and Traditional Chinese. Settings display the default hot keys for capitalizing the first letter or all text, changing text to lowercase, and inverting text case. Simply highlight the paragraph, sentence, or entire document and press the hot key. The application works quickly and accurately in Microsoft Word and other text editors, but it didn't work for us when we tested it on spreadsheets. No help file is offered to determine which applications this program is designed to work with, and most functionality is duplicated by the Auto-Correct and Change Case options already available in Word. Anyone can use this simple application, but with its ability to work only in certain programs, it's not as effective as it could be.
