Dynamic Range Compressor

Description

This program converts music files so that quiet sections are louder, making them more suitable for noisy environments (eg, car). This is especially useful for classical music. DRC looks ahead so that it can anticipate sudden loud passages, thus avoiding sudden changes in volume or amplification. Several other algorithms for improving the quality of the transformation are also included. All parameters can be adjusted by the user, and settings can be saved for re-use. The program requires, and produces, uncompressed .WAV files. It does not operate in real time, but pre-processes whole files. Version 1.1 makes Compression Factor and Amplification Limit to be specified in terms of the proportion of the track's duration.
