Hyper Shutdown is a simple and effective utility which lets you schedule various actions on your PCs. Support actions are: Shutdown, Restart, Logoff, Hibernate, Hibernate & wake, Standby, Lock Computer and Reminder. Optionally, it can also forcefully terminate all running processes before performing the selected action. Reminder supports various formats (mp3, wav, wma, and mpg). Hyper Shutdown now supports wake up from Hibernation (Hibernate & wake) which lets you hibernate your computer and then wake up later at scheduled time. Version 2.2 adds support for action Hibernate & wake later, can now launch at windows startup, activate on startup, and supports scheduling action for only selected days.

This simple little utility lets users schedule various shutdown tasks on their PCs. Though we would have liked to have seen more schedule options, it performed as promised.
Hyper Shutdown features a very simple user interface. The small window displays a list of actions, such as shutdown, restart, log off, hibernate, and set alarm. From there, all you have to do is simply enter the specific time or time frame that you want the program to perform the chosen action, and enter the number of seconds for the countdown warning. You can also select a file to execute before the action takes place. It worked without a hitch in our tests, and we appreciated the 10-second warning. The program's settings are minimal, and only allow you to change the beep frequency for the warning message or to exit without warning. Unfortunately, it doesn't include the option of setting multiple actions or multiple dates and times. You're limited to one action at a time, on the current day.
The program offers a Help link, but it merely takes you to the publisher's Web site, which lacks any real support. Still, for the price, this freeware tool is effective for hands-free shutdown options.
