ReSysInfo is a system information viewer for Windows. The tool has 25 total information modules: BIOS information, CMOS, desktop, DirectX, drives, environment, fonts, keyboard, locale, machine & APM, mainboard, MCI, memory, mouse, multimedia, network, OpenGL, passwords, ports, printers & fax, processes, processor, video system, general information about Windows and a summary.
Review
The Windows Control Panel gives access to some of the operating system's nuts and bolts, but it doesn't always provide as much information as it could. ReSysInfo is a basic program that presents information about a variety of your computer's components all in one spot.
ReSysInfo looks very much like the Windows Control panel, with a collection of icons representing information about drives, networks, keyboards, and other hardware and software. Unlike the Control Panel, ReSysInfo doesn't actually let you change any settings, but it does allow you to quickly view the settings and other information. There are ways in which ReSysInfo and the Control Panel are similar--both have an icon for viewing font information, for example--but ReSysInfo goes much more in depth; in the case of the fonts, the program shows the height, ascent, average width, and other information about each font. The program also lets you copy a given component's settings to the clipboard, which is a handy feature to have if you're trying to troubleshoot. We also liked it that ReSysInfo lets you create TXT, HTML, and XML reports that include information about any combination of components. The program's HTML Help file is brief, but ReSysInfo itself is pretty self-explanatory. Overall, we think ReSysInfo is a good choice for people who could use quick access to their computers' various settings and other information.
ReSysInfo installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.
