Description
Network Inventory Master is an advanced, powerful, and feature-rich asset-management and asset-tracking system for your desktop and networked PCs. It provides your organization with comprehensive and detailed reporting about the hardware and software on all of the PCs on your network. This includes items such as the BIOS, CPU type and speed, IP settings, the memory size, various operating-system details, the network card, and a wide range of other data. It is possible to export any item of hardware-inventory data for external analysis and reporting. Network Inventory Master collects information about installed software on each workstation and features modem information. New releases are free for customers. Collected data can be saved into text files, MS Access, or a MS SQL database.
Review
This program quickly generates network-inventory reports showing installed software, hardware, network names, and user profiles. Network Inventory Master includes two executable files: one for the administrator and one installed on all of the other computers on the network.
You can start the client on remote PCs from the administrator's computer. When the application performs a scan, it creates a report with all the inventory information for the system administrator. Network Inventory Master generates CVS and HTML reports filtered by processor type, OS, RAM, and keywords. We found the application very stable and were impressed it used only 7MB of memory on our test system.
It doesn't include any other network-management functions, so it's best suited for smaller networks of less than 100 computers, but its flexible reports and easy operation make it a good choice for automated inventories.
