Description
Global Clipboard is a multifunctional clipboard manager. The program saves all information which is copied in a clipboard. Due to the program, you can restore all data which were used at work; easily fill in various forms; see statistics for the copied text and sizes of the images; use a clipboard for accumulation of the text; restore contents of a clipboard at the following work session; change the register of the text and to transform images.
Review
This virtual clipboard offers a standard set of clip-management features in a not-very-usable package. Global Clipboard offers three modes for saving copied items: a single clipboard, multiple clipboards, and the Text Accumulator.
Choose Main Window to see a cramped interface that displays clips along with information on the clips' format and the number of characters and words they contain. Right-click an entry to save it to a text file, paste it from the clipboard, change the case of the text, or change its location in the slots. The clip window also includes a set of tools for changing program mode, setting the window transparency, and accessing the settings.
Tool tips are a useful bonus, but Global Clipboard's help file suffers from awkward writing that doesn't always clarify the program's features or functionality. Nonstandard icons are another problem. To quit the program, you click what looks like the Windows XP Shutdown button. To clear the clipboard, you click what looks like a Close Window button. Novices will probably want more direction than this application provides, and more advanced users can find other programs with equally good clip-management capabilities.
