Review
Although its concept mimics that of many other space shooters on the scene, this polished game likely will find favor with fans of the genre. In this side-scrolling game, you can turn off your brain and rely on your reflexes, as your sole mission is to obliterate the horde of incoming enemy ships to earn a confrontation with the boss at the end of each level. You'll be able to acquire a number of power-ups and more sophisticated weapons along the way, but due to the sheer number of foes, Astrobatics still presents a decent challenge. We had no problems with either the graphics or the music, and the game is a snap to control with your mouse. However, other users will appreciate the ability to play the game via the keyboard and configure the controls to their liking. Even though we'd prefer a longer trial period than one hour, we'd still think Astrobatics makes an attractive option for those who love action-packed arcade games.
