This perfectly compact program sports an easy-to-use interface and makes recording audio from a PC a breeze. RecordAnything is true to its name, allowing you to record any song, conversation, or other noise that travels through your sound card. To start or stop recording, you simply click a program button conveniently located in the program tray. You can either manipulate recording levels or let the program ably deal with the details for you. Other settings include audio channel, recording volume, and MP3 quality. We were especially impressed that RecordAnything supports VBR (variable bit rate) files. When saving files, you are required to both name and edit MP3 tags manually. Overall, this is a great program for audiophiles who want to capture all their favorite Net radio tunes or memorable conversations on "tape."
