Description
FlashForge, the well-known and popular screensaver creator, converts your Macromedia Flash files into a screensaver plus an installer. FlashForge takes care of all the details and lets you take care of your real work. It has numerous options that help you make your screensaver look far more professional: Real movie previewing, a settings bitmap, a read-me file, and a screensaver uninstaller.
Also, FlashForge can compress your screensaver installer, ideal for Web delivery. All the end user needs to do is double-click the downloaded file to install your screensaver. FlashForge consists of an easy-to-use wizard interface, which turns the creation of a Flash screensaver into a one-minute job. FlashForge is compatible with the latest Flash version. Version 7.1 includes unspecified updates.
Review
This tool converts a Flash file into a full-blown screensaver installer with your logo, Web address, and read-me file. The strength and weakness of the FlashForge interface is its wizard design. Though the wizard makes it easy to create a screensaver within a couple minutes of installing the program, you have to go through all the options every time. The output looks good. The installer size is much smaller than the source movies. We wished for the ability to add a musical soundtrack, though. The trial version of the program lets you create a demo screensaver that expires after a few days. FlashForge lets anyone who can use Flash make a professional-looking screensaver.
