Review

Editor review

This application lets you rename groups of files at once, although its peculiar layout is far from appealing. Complete File Rename opens with a tri-pane window listing files on the left and two panes on the right to specify title modifications and to preview outcomes. Initially, the eclectic color scheme and crowded interface are somewhat bewildering, but further investigation reveals Complete File Rename to be a handy and easy-to-use program. In our tests we were able to easily replace the text names of several files at once and insert new text into existing file titles. Grabbing files by extensions and swapping them out for new ones also is a breeze. Changes occured before our eyes in the bottom panel with the original names remaining intact in one column and the new names reflecting modifications in the other. Although its interface could use a face-lift, this 10-day trial application proves effective for renaming both small and large groups of files.
