Check Identical Files' jumbled interface uses a step-by-step guided process, making it easy to use. Browsing and selecting a drive or folders to scan is simple, and you can create and save the list for future use. Duplicates were returned fairly quickly and placed in a column alongside the original files. You can delete them all, select certain ones, or indicate a specific file extension from the list to single out and eradicate. Throw your clones in the Recycle Bin, delete them permanently, or place them in an archive folder. With all of the options available, it's too bad the program doesn't offer search parameters such as searching for certain file types or for specific filenames. Its 10-day trial is a bit short, but most users will find Check Identical Files useful for keeping their hard drive free of duplicates.
