Producteev for Mac

Producteev is a way of managing your to-do list on your Mac desktop. Sounds pedestrian to some, but to-do lists for individuals are a great way to organize yourself and your time, and since Producteev works with team-based or group to-do lists, there's a collaborative aspect that few other apps can match. The Producteev app installs quickly and has clients for iDevices of all types, as well as other mobile environments and a Web interface.

The Producteev interface displays a fair bit of information but in a nicely organized manner. The left pane of the interface lists the larger overviews, the center pane shows tasks and people, and the right pane expands on a task's details. New tasks can be added from any device using Producteev and update the others in real time. Collaborating with others is easily handled, too. A nice feature is the ability to create workspaces, each of which is dedicated to either a particular aspect of a larger project, or perhaps to a team for each workspaces. For larger projects, being able to subdivide the work into workspaces will help with assigning and compartmentalizing the tasks properly, all leading to getting the project done in a more organized and timely manner. When a task is coming up, there's audible and visual notifications on the desktop to act as reminders. There's also the ability to quickly update a task so the entire group (if there is one) is synched properly.

We enjoyed working with Producteev, and while there are quite a few time management apps out there, there are few that work for entire groups in synch. As such, Producteev stands out for its group aspects. Since it is a free app, there's little reason not to use Producteev.
