Description
Writer's Blocks free you from working in a constricted, linear way. When you write in a word processor, you end up constantly scrolling through page after page to see if what you have written is coherent. Writer's Blocks give you a visual way to view your written material. You'll gain a completely new perspective on your work. It doesn't impose a method or structure on you it allows you to impose your method on it. Each block has an optional footnote area where you can enter reference information (or any other type of information). When you transfer block text to the manuscript, the footnotes are compiled at the end for a bibliography. Features include drag and drop entire columns of blocks, use a new interface based on the Microsoft Office Fluent user interface known as the Ribbon menu system, select a block by holding down the CTRL or SHIFT key and clicking anywhere inside a block, blocks and the manuscript can contain hyperlinks to web pages, mouse wheel scrolls text in blocks, manuscript import and export formats, and AutoMax.
Review
Despite a title that should strike fear into the hearts of budding writers everywhere, this program is essentially Microsoft Word with a few colorful tricks. Word users will immediately recognize similar toolbar functions and options. To use, you create "blocks," which are small notes or ideas that can then be assembled into a larger document, or rearranged at will. While you can't save individual blocks, you can save a few blocks in a larger document. Also, individual blocks can't be opened in any other program beside this one. Overall, this program might be helpful for those working on a book or longer writing project with multiple information sources.
