Use FileScan Tool Pro to automate almost anything you can think of. From file-handling to automated email handling, FTP upload and download, database tasks etc.
Choose from more then 100 commands to create your workflows. Use commands like; CopyFile, MoveFile, PurgeFile, RunProgram, FTPdownload, FTPupload, SyncDirectories, CompressFile, QueryDatabase, OutlookReceiveMail, XMLimport, XMLexport etc. Using these commands you can setup simple and very complex workflows. Use the flowchart style GUI to simply drop commands onto the workflow and drag arrows between the commands to direct the (work)flow. FST-Pro has powerful variables which make interaction between multiple workflows or string-manipulation and mathematical functions very easy. The separate daemon services do all the actual processing and are very "CPU-friendly". Daemons run as full windows services. You can run up to a maximum of 30 daemons for parallel processing. You can now also create your own plugins with the Plugin SDK and triggers with the Trigger SDK. Use the Access Control mechanism to force users to login to the Configuration Manager and to have different levels of access to the Configuration Manager. Access Control also determines which daemons a user is allowed to manage. FileScan Tool Pro's interface is simple at heart, but the extensive functions, submenus, and display windows may cause concern for new users. This isn't a program even experienced users will pick up in a few minutes. However, those willing to spend the time needed will find that the app is flexible and useful.
Creating flow charts of actions and workflows is the prime tool in FileScan Tool Pro's arsenal. Users familiar with building Boolean flowcharts will find this process logical and simple. Users can quickly create intricate scripts by simply dragging and dropping functions from the Plugin Library to the current workflow window. Defining a function's properties takes a mere context click on the function's icon. Editing global constants, variables, and logging tools is quick and easy with simple pull-downs. A collection of templates serve as quick starts for new workflows and quick solutions for common needs. FTP, e-mail, and network functions are easily added to make workflows operate outside the installed PC. Daemons are used to watch your system to run workflows when the user-selected conditions are met. Creating a daemon is a simple process for most users.
The demo for FileScan Tool Pro limits users to a single daemon, two workflows, 60 minutes use per session, and a 15-day trial. You may have to spend more time than usual getting up and running, but that's still long enough to see if the app fills your need as a workflow creator and manager.
