SafeParent was created by Jeff Herman, a nationally recognized child advocate and attorney for victims of abuse. The app is designed to help you become a Safe Parent by remaining alert and assessing the potentially risky behaviors of the adults in your childs life.When it comes to protecting kids, parents are trained to recognize danger when they see it. But when a child is abused, it is not typically by a stranger wearing an overcoat in the park. In fact, ninety percent of abused children are abused by someone they know and trust. Most child molesters do not appear outwardly evilthey groom children and families using techniques that make them appear loving and friendly.For these reasons, its important to speak to your child early and often about abuse, boundaries, and red flags. SafeParent offers parents and kids an opportunity to begin this conversation in a way that is interactive, informative, and kid-friendly.
