Hay Day takes you on an adventure in the countryside when your uncle suddenly decides to retire and hand his farm over to you. This is conveyed in the little introduction sequence, and you can begin to play almost immediately as some helpful neighbors and farm equipment get you started.
Pros
Lots of options: You'll always have something to do out on the farm, whether it's seeding, harvesting, caring for animals, building a bakery, or just about anything else you can imagine. Since there are so many things to do, you can alternate between them and keep busy while you're waiting for your bread to bake, your crops to grow, or your chickens to lay more eggs.
Social aspect: You can connect this app to Facebook to play with your friends. Visiting their farms or any farms of other players gives you the opportunity to help them with chores and earn rewards for yourself at the same time.
Cons
Pay or wait: Any task you set out to complete on your farm takes a certain amount of time. For instance, when you decide to build a Bakery, you won't be able to bake bread until construction is completed. If you want to expedite the construction process, you can use a Diamond, but if you do that for every task, you'll run out of Diamonds much more quickly than you can earn them. That means you'll have to buy some if you want to keep playing quickly, and they come in several different size packages starting with a set of 50 for $1.99 and topping out at a load of 3,750 for $99.99.
