Review
App Lock promises to lock your applications behind a four-digit passcode, so that others may not access them, but it fails to deliver. Not only does the basic app-locking functionality not work, but the interface is old-fashioned and drab, and some menus within the app are displayed in a perplexing language.
Pros
Quick and easy app selection: App Lock features an App List section, which displays all the software on your device. Through it you can easily select an app to be locked with just one tap, which means that you can pick out dozens of apps in no time.
Cons
Broken functionality: In theory, once you've selected the apps to be locked, you should not be able to access them unless you enter a passcode. However, during our tests we could open the supposedly locked apps without any problems whether or not the app was running. Reinstalling App Lock, restarting our system, or changing the selected apps did not help.
Dreary UI: While navigable enough, the interface has a drab gray background and overall looks outdated. Even if this is a basic app with a limited functionality, that's not an excuse good enough for the UI's lack of visual appeal.
Bottom Line
App Lock didn't work as intended for us, at least not the version we tested (2.1.9); therefore, we cannot recommend it. That said, you may want to keep an eye out for a future release, which hopefully will fix everything.
