Freight Train Simulator

Freight Train Simulator puts you at the controls of a freight train and charges you with keeping it on schedule and on track. You'll have to use your wits and skill at the helm to make sure the train goes as quickly as possible, but not too fast, so that it gets to the next station in time.

Pros

Data presentation: Your speed, distance traveled, time, and other relevant information are clearly displayed along the left-hand side of the game screen as you're playing. You can also see how far up you've adjusted your throttle and brake, and the timer counts down, so you'll always know exactly how much time you have left.

Straightforward controls: This app uses basic keyboard controls, two buttons for the throttle and two for the brake. There is also an option to cycle through a few different camera angles, so you can get a good look at the whole train, and you can control what you're looking at by moving the mouse.

Cons

Camera control: Adjusting the camera with the mouse is a little jerky, and it's tough to get the hang of, at first. But with a little practice, you'll get used to it.

Freight Train Simulator is exactly what its name suggests. It's a fun, free game with decent graphics and basic enough controls. It's not loaded with features, but it's still a good way to kill some time and try and beat your own scores.
