An introduction to our interactive course for anyone who owns or uses a marine VHF radio or is preparing for their RYA Short Range Certificate (SRC) exam. See how you will learn to operate a VHF radio and the theory behind choosing the right equipment, how it works, making the right type of call to the right person, and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System. The SRC is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on a UK vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio. This includes both fixed and hand held equipment using international channels.
