Curiota is a free, fast, always there, easy to use macOS app for taking quick notes and collecting files. Instead of a proprietary database it uses standard file formats, a completely open file hierarchy, and Spotlight. You can store your Curiota notes and files anywhere you wish, including within a synced folder such as Dropbox or iCloud Drive, as long as it's Spotlight accessible.
