Review
Frame Design is a cool tool if you're working on a building project or just need a tool to help you in an engineering class. It lets you map out schematics of all sorts of designs and do tests for how much they can hold, move, and more. While most people won't be interested in this app at all -- as it may be over their head -- the people who need it will really love it.
This app presents you with a digital sheet of graphing paper, so you can draw and modify designs. It responds quickly to your touches, and every piece is easy to drag and resize. Though this app is for math whizzes, it's relatively easy to read and saves most of the numbers and equations for a separate, easy-to-access menu. The app can easily insert force, load, and moment and calculate exactly how the structure would respond. You can insert all sorts of rollers, springs, and deflections, and Frame Design will still figure things out, instantly. You can even change symbols and units with the touch of a button.
This has everything a professional or amateur engineer needs to help them design things. We didn't even mind the lack of a note-taking ability, because Frame Design did of all the work for us. If you want to take the leg work out of formulas and equations, this app is an excellent choice.
