CSD Mobile allows you to quickly check allowable spans and Hole size/locations for all major I Joist manufacturers based on current available product literature.

Spans:

Whether youre in Canada or the United States you can quickly pick your design code and manufacturer/s, then choose from available criteria and quickly see a list of allowable spans and spacings. These spans align with the manufacturers literature span tables and typically are only for uniformly loaded joists. Point loads and non-standard loads require special consideration. This can be used to compare multiple manufacturers joists/spans/spacings at once

Holes:

You can find where you can place an opening in the joists and the size of the opening easily based on the span of the member. Results will list the Minimum distance from bearings and maximum hole size. Results are for uniformly loaded joists and special conditions like points loads require additional review.
