Paperless for Mac is designed to organize and manage all of your documents, receipts, and other important paperwork and PDFs in a single interface, and it does a decent job of it. While the setup process can be a bit involved and we experienced some slowdowns when importing files, the organizational tools provided by Paperless make it a great central storage solution on your Mac for all of the stray documents you scan on a regular basis.
The installation process for Paperless can be extensive as it installs libraries, imports files, and requests access to various resources on your computer. Once done, however, the app should be ready to use for any scanning, importing, or document management and organization on your machine. The interface is clean and very reminiscent of other Apple libraries with cover shots of all of your PDFs in a single, searchable space. You can add a new document by scanning it with your scanner, use OCR to recognize and extract text from a document, or create new folders to organize your documents in special categories. Because the library processes everything separately from your Mac, the import process and opening a file for the first time can be slow, so the use of Paperless can be frustrating the first few times through, but once your library is set it's a solid replacement for Finder-level organization.
If you have a lot of documents lying around, scans all over your computer, or receipts you'd like to digitize, consider downloading Paperless for Mac. The speed can be frustrating at first, but as a receipt and document organization tool, it does a fine job.
