Review

Editor review

Password Creator for Mac lets you generate up to 1,000 unique and random passwords per batch, all of which meet the specifications you set. So whether you just want help making the passwords for your personal accounts more secure, or you need to generate a large number of random tokens, you can get it done through this app's streamlined interface.

Pros

Clear options: This app features a clear interface that lays out all of the possible options in a very accessible way, no matter what the user's experience level. You can decide what types of characters are included in the generated passwords and how long they are. And you can even specify certain characters that you'd like not to appear in the password list at all. A graphic at the bottom of the interface also displays the strength of the passwords you're generating on a scale of one to ten.

Copy and export: Once you've generated your list of passwords, the app makes it easy to get them out. You can either copy items directly to the Clipboard, or you can export an entire list to a text file.

Cons

Word incorporation: While being able to exclude certain characters is a plus, it would be nice if you could also specify particular characters or words to be incorporated into each generated password. That would make it possible to generate passwords that may be easier to remember than a completely random jumble of symbols, letters, and numbers.

Bottom Line

If you have to generate a lot of passwords at once, this app is a great option, and it only costs $1.99. It gives you a lot of control over which characters are used in your passwords while also getting your results to you quickly and making exporting a snap.
