Description

BeamWriter is for when you hold a presentation and want to do Polls (votes), share information with the audience or get feedback or questions without relying on an expensive text messaging or bespoke voting solution. You set up and 'Beam' the service on your iPhone or iPad. If they have BeamWriter installed, your audience will pick up the beam automatically when in the same room and they can get access by entering a code if not. The do however not need the app installed to participate - they can enter a web code at www.beamwriter.com. BeamWriter uses Bluetooth Low Energy to broadcast services. The broadcast is picked up by anyone running the app on their device and the service made available. You therefore do not need to distribute a link in advance or have the audience type in an address to get access. You do not need to know the email addresses of the audience to have them participate. On the contrary, you can set up an 'Email' service and allow the audience to register their email to get material you want to share, and you a list of the participants' email addresses.Live voting sessions, Chat sessions and NPS feedback can be presented live in a browser - and thus projected on a big screen while the voting is happening.Results and statistics are kept for you to access and share after the session.If anyone in the audience does not have the app on their device or you would like to include people not in the room, you can enable a 'Global Code'. Participants can then go to www.beamwriter.com and enter the code to use the services you are broadcasting. When you stop broadcasting or disable the code, the access is terminated.The app is free to download and free to use for participants. When you create your log-in, you are given 40 BeamWriter Tokens which you can use to set up services. Should you need more tokens these are available as in-app purchase at a modest cost. The app does not collect data on you as a 'Beamer' or 'Beamee' and it does not sell advertising. Available services are:- 'Web' - beam the link to a web page (any web page). This is a great way of advertising your company home page, a product page, a user feedback page or anything else.- 'Email' - your audience can request a pre-defined email from you. In such an email you can for instance share your contact details or the link to the presentation you are giving. Sharing Dropbox links is especially easy as the app is integrated with the Dropbox app on your phone. You can set the service up to collect the email addresses of the people requesting a mail from you (will be visible to them), or choose to let people remain anonymous. This is a great way of building a record of the people interested in your story.- 'Vote' - set up a vote over an issue and let your audience vote while you are speaking. You and the audience both can follow the result on their phones and you can project on a screen from a browser.- 'NPS' - set up a Net Promoter Score* customer loyalty feedback service and have your audience give you feedback on your performance. Watch your score develop as feedback comes in and export your scores and any written comments for use in your follow-up work.- 'Ask' - allow the audience to send in questions while the event or presentation is happening. You can see the questions as they come in and easily move them between 'Unanswered', 'Answered' and 'Rejected'. A question is only visible to you and the person who sent it in.- 'Chat' - invite your audience to a dialogue where you can control whether posts appear and are visible to Beamees immediately or whether they have to be approved by you. Control whether replies are allowed, or limit the service to new posts. It is possible to delegate services to another BeamWriter user.
