The Ling 6 Sound Test is a quick and easy listening check that was developed by Dr. Daniel Ling.
It is a quick and easy listening check that determine what sounds children or adults who are deaf or hard of hearing can hear (detect) and what sounds they can recognise (identify) in conversational level speech with or without a hearing device, e.g. hearing aid, cochlear implant or bone conductor
The Ling Six Sounds (ah, ee, mm, oo, sh, ss) are six sounds that represent a broad range of frequencies across the speech range (low, mid and high frequency speech sounds).
